CLIMATES

In keeping with our lesson we did a little more in  detail regarding latitudes,and we further learnt about the different climatic zones of the world in brief,

Regarding latitudes we learnt 

1. These are imaginary lines that run in east to west direction around the world

2. They are called Parallels  because they never meet

3. They measure the distance north and south of the equator.

4 .Equator is the longest latitude and they get shorter as we move along the poles.

5. Meet at the meridians at right angles.

Next we learnt about the climatic zones  with the help of the latitude markings of

Arctic circle , the Tropic of Cancer in the Northern Hemisphere and the Tropic of Capricorn and the Antarctic circle in the Southern Hemisphere

We had the children locate them on the map and the globe. and narrate the lesson back to us Alhamdulillah.

We then, worked on the different climatic division on earth, Polar zones the Temperate zones and the Tropical zones and we  had the children try to identify a few  countries in each zone. and talk about what they think about the climate in different regions. Alhamdulillah they got it pretty much righ.t




Then we had the younger children do some activity on the topic
